Advisers don't build. Builders miss the domain. I sit in the overlap.

I'm Alpit — a procurement and supply chain transformation consultant in London, currently a Manager at a Big 4 firm. Six years across Big 4 and specialist consultancies, with one consistent thread: I don't just advise on AI and automation, I build and ship the working product.

01 About

I grew up in Aurangabad, in the industrial heart of Maharashtra — playing guitar in the school band and spending summers leading expeditions to national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and the Himalayas. Before university I spent a semester at sea: one floating campus, fourteen countries, and a permanent taste for seeing how the world actually works up close.

These days I'm a consultant in London. Off the clock I DJ, dive, and photograph wildlife — and I build production software for my family's manufacturing business in India, which keeps one foot on the factory floor while the other is in the boardroom.

That combination is the point, not the biography. A factory floor in India and a consulting practice in London answer each other's questions — one keeps the advice honest, the other keeps the software ambitious. Most of my best work comes from refusing to choose between them.

    AI Contract Inquiry Solution

A global pharma client's procurement team was manually answering tens of thousands of contract queries a year. I designed and led an AI-enabled inquiry solution that eliminated ~40,000 manual case responses annually — redirecting the team to higher-value procurement activity.

    LLM pipelinesCLMEnterprise delivery

    The problem

Contract queries arrived in volume, every day, and each one pulled a procurement specialist away from real work. The answers lived in the contracts — but finding them was manual, repetitive, and slow.

    What I built

An AI-enabled inquiry solution sitting inside the client's existing CLM workflow: routing logic to triage queries, LLM pipelines to resolve them against contract data, and escalation paths for the cases that genuinely needed a human.

    The hard part

Reliability, not capability. Handling ambiguous queries, getting the routing edge cases right, and earning enough trust from procurement colleagues that they actually stopped answering manually. The design constraint throughout: fit the existing workflow — no process change on the client side.

    Outcome

Roughly 40,000 manual case responses eliminated per year, with the client team redirected to higher-value procurement work.

    Client delivery ~5,000 contracts migrated

    Contract Migration Programme

Owned the technical architecture and stakeholder engagement for a FTSE 100 TMT client's contract data migration — roughly 5,000 contracts moving through a structured pipeline with daily client governance, on schedule for an August 2026 go-live and presented at a partner-level showcase.

    Data migrationCLMProgramme leadership

    The problem

Around 5,000 contracts needed to move into a new structure — with zero tolerance for data loss and a client team that had to approve every structural decision along the way.

    What I built

Client-approved mapping workbooks are the single source of truth — a code generator turns them into the full SQL pipeline, so every transformation is signed off before it exists, and validation gates run before any batch is exported. No hand-edited SQL, paired with a daily governance cadence that kept the client team confident and unblocked.

    The hard part

Data quality and stakeholder confidence. Migration programmes fail quietly — a field mapped wrong, a clause dropped — so the discipline was in validation at every stage and in keeping decision-making visible to the client rather than buried in the pipeline.

    Outcome

Migration batches in delivery, on schedule for an August 2026 go-live; presented at a partner-level showcase.

    05 How I work

    i

Ship the tool, not the deck

Advice that ends in a slide is a draft. The work isn't done until someone uses the thing daily and would complain if it disappeared.

    ii

    One source of truth

Most operational pain is the same data living in five places. Whether it's 5,000 contracts or a factory's ERP, the fix starts with making one version true.

    iii

Prototype in days, harden what survives

V1 in days, in front of real users, then production-harden whatever they keep using. Speed of iteration beats elegance of plan.

    iv

    Keep both worlds

A factory floor in India and a consulting practice in London answer each other's questions. The unusual combination is the advantage — don't sand it off.
